Arzua to pedrousa

Today was the shortest trek 19km .Santiago is within reaching point .Met frank the tank from Tipperary and we stopped for a coffee .Also Met an elderly man holding a very large blade it was best not to ask what he was doing.It’s a great journey for the soul.

Today was the longest trek 32 km really diverse group on the walk today great to talk to frank from tipp about all things gaa. Peter from USA about his knee operation.The big group from USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ who I was happy to clarify with that Ireland is not part of the Uk.And to the many many others who pass and say Buen Camino

Another 24km hike today really cool country side could do with less hills πŸ˜€ body at this stage really knows when to tell you stop and take a rest .But when your legs are burning and heart beating fast I thought of those behind and ahead who were in same situation.Until tomorrow

Sarria to portomarin

24km trek today early start as the heat gets intense after midday. Lots of nationalities on route.Did it in good time .very busy but still peaceful at the same time .many thanks to the Dutch lad who helped me across bridge going into portomarin never saw a bridge so long and high in my life …. O my nerves πŸ˜€

Day 1 Camino

Dublin airport to Santiago an eventful trip by bus to Sarria .

On my bus trip we were stopped by the Spanish police driver was fined for not wearing a face mask and all passrangers were made wear masks . Sarria is very busy with a mixture of locals and pilgrims who will set out tomorrow for a 22km walk to portarmarin .Bed early tonight for me with an early start in the morning. Buen Camino
